Why Paros is Known

Paros is a Greek island located in the central Aegean Sea. It is part of the Cyclades group of islands and is known for its beautiful beaches, traditional villages, and historical sites.

The island's main town, Parikia, is home to the 13th-century Church of Ekatontapiliani, which is considered one of the most important Byzantine churches in Greece.

Regarding its geography, the island has a coastline of about 120 km and its highest point is Mount Profitis Ilias, which is about 533 meters above sea level.

The island is made up primarily of limestone and features rolling hills, rocky outcrops, and sandy beaches. It also has a number of small rivers and streams that flow into the Aegean Sea.
