Package Tour Itinerary: Istanbul & Cappadocia
After your arrival at what was once Byzantium (and later Constantinople), your English-speaking assistant will be waiting for you at the airport. He will inform you about all the details of your itinerary, answer your questions and offer you a brief presentation of the city and its day to day life. We will transfer you to your hotel in one of our private vehicles and your assistant will help you with the check in. The rest of the day will be free for you to relax and start enjoying this stunning city.
Greca Tip: Head to Ortaköy, the area for upmarket chic, where you will also find a strip of stands serving kumpir, Turkey's answer to the jacket potato. Pick your spud and toppings and savour the seaside views while you eat on your feet.

After a delicious breakfast and, at the time indicated, we will pick you up from your hotel, or the nearest meeting point, to begin the full day visit to this magnificent city. It includes an official English-speaking guide, tickets, lunch in a central restaurant and a visit to the most resplendent monuments that the Ottoman, Byzantine, and Roman empires have left us: Hagia Sophia, Constantinople Racecourse, The Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar, which houses more than 4000 stores inside. After the visit, the return transfer to your hotel will be covered by each traveler, unless you prefer to take a leisurely stroll through the beautiful Sultanahmed neighborhood.
Greca Tip: Be sure you try the delicious apple tea served hot or cold.

After having breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time in the morning in Istanbul.
In the afternoon you will start your trip to the magical and amazing region of Cappadocia. Cappadocia is unique for its incredible landscape and history. Arrival and hotel accommodation with dinner included.
Greca Tip: Ask your assistant about flying over Cappadocia with a hot air balloon.

After a filling breakfast, you will dedicate the whole of this day to this wonderful region.
Starting with the Göreme Valley and its open-air museum, you will visit the churches, chapels, and monasteries, with their ancient frescoes painted on the walls. You will continue to the town of Avanos, known for its pottery-making tradition, an art that dates back to the Hittite period. Here you will marvel at the use of red clay coming from Kizilirmak, the longest river in Turkey, and taste the delicious Turkish tea.
Later, you will cross the Pasabag valley or "Valley of the Monks", because of the many monk refuges carved into the soft rock, and you will be amazed at the spectacular cone topped rock pillars known as Fairy Chimneys. The tour will continue through the valley of Devrent or "Imaginary Valley" full of unique rock formations, many of which are said to resemble animal shapes. You will also visit the Göreme Panorama, a panoramic viewpoint with fantastic views of the city of Göreme. Finally you will visit the city of Urgüp, famous for its wine production, its fertile vineyards and apricot gardens, where you can take some incredible photos as a momento of your time here.
Late in the afternoon, you will return to Istanbul for your overnight stay.
Greca Tip: If it was not possible to go on a balloon ride on your first day, don't miss out on the opportunity to do it today at sunrise (check with your guide).

You will enjoy your breakfast and, at the time indicated, we will transfer you to Istanbul airport to board your international flight. From all of us at Greca we hope to see you again to create more wonderful moments that will remain etched in your memory forever.
Have a nice trip! Or as you may also say: "Iyi yolculuklar!"
Greca Tip: If you think that your stay in Istanbul was too short, you can add additional nights at the time of your booking.
