Welcome to Mexico City, one of the most fascinating and historically layered capitals in the world. Upon arrival at the airport, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel where you can comfortably settle in and begin your first impressions of this vibrant metropolis.
Built on the foundations of the ancient Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Aztec civilization, the city today blends centuries of indigenous heritage with colonial architecture, modern neighborhoods, and a dynamic cultural scene. The remainder of the day will be at leisure, allowing you to rest after your journey or perhaps begin exploring the surroundings of your hotel at your own pace.
Toward the end of the afternoon, our guide will contact you to welcome you personally, confirm the details of the upcoming days, and ensure that everything is prepared for a smooth and enriching experience across Mexico.
Greca Tip: Mexico City is one of the largest cities in the world and sits at more than 2,200 meters above sea level. Taking the first day calmly helps the body adapt comfortably to the altitude.

The morning begins with breakfast as we prepare to explore some of the most meaningful historical and spiritual landmarks surrounding Mexico City. Our first stop is the evocative Plaza de las Tres Culturas, a symbolic place where the layers of Mexico’s history converge: the pre-Hispanic heritage, the colonial past and the modern nation coexist within a single square.
From here we continue toward the remarkable archaeological complex of Teotihuacan, located about 40 kilometers from the capital. Once one of the largest cities in the ancient world, this ceremonial center still impresses with its monumental scale. Walking along the Avenue of the Dead, we will admire the majestic Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon, as well as the elegant Temple of Quetzalpapalotl and the Citadel. Along the way, we will also visit a traditional artisan center that preserves techniques rooted in ancient cultures.
Before returning to the city, we pause at the revered Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the Americas. This visit offers a meaningful glimpse into the spiritual traditions that continue to shape Mexican identity today.
The afternoon remains open for you to enjoy the capital at your own rhythm, perhaps savoring its vibrant streets, cafés or cultural corners.
Greca Tip: Teotihuacan flourished between the 1st and 7th centuries and once housed more than 100,000 inhabitants, making it one of the largest cities in the ancient world.

After a leisurely breakfast, we depart Mexico City towards the state of Morelos, arriving at Tepoztlán, a charming “Pueblo Mágico” renowned for its spiritual heritage and wellness retreats. Nestled at the foot of a striking green mountain crowned by a small pyramid (which we will not visit), Tepoztlán invites you to wander its cobblestone streets, explore local artisan markets, and soak in the serene atmosphere of this culturally rich town.
Continuing our journey, we arrive in Cuernavaca, the capital of Morelos, famously known as “La Ciudad de la Eterna Primavera.” With origins in pre-Hispanic times, the city served as a retreat for Aztec nobility and later for the colonial elite. Here, we explore the Palacio de Hernán Cortés, admire the cathedral, and stroll through its lush gardens and vibrant public parks. Time is allocated to enjoy lunch in the city.
In the afternoon, we move on to Taxco, one of Mexico’s most picturesque “Pueblos Mágicos.” Perched in the mountains, its colonial architecture, whitewashed houses, cobblestone streets, and renowned silver craftsmanship create an unforgettable setting. You will have time to explore the town at your leisure, visit local shops, and admire the views from the historic center.
Please note: on occasions, accommodation in Taxco can be limited. In such cases, we may continue to Chilpancingo later in the afternoon for overnight arrangements.
Greca Tip: Tepoztlán is not only famous for its pyramid; its weekly market is a treasure trove of local crafts and traditional foods, reflecting centuries of indigenous and mestizo culture.

After enjoying our breakfast, we will leave behind the colonial charm of Taxco and set off on a scenic journey through the mountains toward the Pacific Coast. As we travel across the landscapes of the state of Guerrero, we will witness the gradual transformation of the surroundings until we reach the vibrant city of Acapulco, one of Mexico’s most iconic beach destinations.
Upon arrival, we will have free time to relax along its famous bay, enjoy its wide stretches of golden-sand beaches, and choose from the many seaside restaurants where you may have lunch and savor local specialties. You will also have the opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean.
In the afternoon, we will visit the historic San Diego Fortress, an impressive 17th-century structure built to protect the city from frequent pirate and corsair attacks. During our visit, we will learn more about Acapulco’s fascinating maritime history and its importance in the colonial trade routes of New Spain.
At the end of the day, we will head to our accommodation in Acapulco, where we can enjoy the hotel facilities and relax after a memorable day of exploration.
Greca Tip: The San Diego Fortress served not only as a military stronghold but also as an example of how European architecture was adapted to tropical environments, making it one of Mexico’s most fascinating colonial landmarks.

After enjoying breakfast, we continue our journey along the Pacific coast toward Zihuatanejo, a charming destination celebrated for its pristine beaches, relaxed atmosphere, and cobblestone streets. Once a quiet fishing village, Zihuatanejo retains its authentic coastal charm, offering visitors a peaceful retreat away from crowded tourist hubs.
Included in the day is a scenic boat ride of approximately 10 minutes to Playa de Las Gatas, a hidden gem accessible only by sea. Here, guests may swim, relax on the soft sands, or enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the beachfront restaurants, soaking in the serene ocean views. The return boat ride allows for quiet contemplation of the surrounding bay and the colorful townscape.
Please note: During peak season, accommodations in Zihuatanejo may be limited. In such cases, we may continue later in the afternoon to Lázaro Cárdenas for overnight arrangements.
Greca Tip: Playa de Las Gatas is famous not only for its clear waters but also for its marine life. Snorkeling here offers a glimpse into the vibrant ecosystems that have flourished in this protected bay.

Breakfast sets the tone for a day of changing landscapes as we leave behind drier terrains and enter the lush mountains of Michoacán. Our journey leads us to Lake Pátzcuaro, one of Mexico’s most culturally significant regions, deeply rooted in indigenous heritage. Here, we board a boat for a scenic 30-minute crossing to Janitzio Island, home to the Purépecha community, known for preserving ancestral traditions and craftsmanship.
On the island, you will have time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, stroll through its traditional streets, and, if you wish, climb to the top of the monumental statue of José María Morelos, which offers panoramic views over the lake and surrounding landscapes. The experience provides a meaningful connection to local culture, where daily life continues to reflect centuries-old customs, including the iconic butterfly-shaped fishing nets.
Returning by boat, we arrive in Pátzcuaro, a city of pre-Hispanic origin and one of Mexico’s most beautiful colonial towns. Its harmonious architecture, vibrant artisan markets, and unique atmosphere create a setting that feels both authentic and timeless, inviting you to connect with the cultural essence of the region.
Greca Tip: Lake Pátzcuaro is especially renowned for its Day of the Dead celebrations, when Janitzio becomes a focal point of candlelit ceremonies that blend indigenous beliefs with colonial traditions.

After enjoying our breakfast, we will bid farewell to the traditional landscapes of Pátzcuaro and continue our journey through the heart of the state of Michoacán. Our first stop will be Morelia, one of Mexico’s most elegant colonial cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for the remarkable preservation of its historic center.
During our visit, we will have time to stroll through its charming streets, admire the magnificent Morelia Cathedral, explore the historic Plaza de Armas, and discover the cultural legacy of a city that is home to one of the oldest universities in the Americas, founded in 1540. We will also enjoy free time for lunch and the opportunity to savor local specialties.
Later, we will continue to Cuitzeo del Porvenir, a picturesque town located beside Mexico’s second-largest lake. Here, we will admire the impressive Former Convent of Santa María Magdalena, a masterpiece of 16th-century Plateresque architecture, and enjoy a leisurely walk through its cobblestone streets lined with historic buildings.
In the afternoon, we will begin our return journey to Mexico City, arriving at approximately 7:30 PM. At the end of the day, we will return to our hotel to relax and reflect on the memorable experiences of this fascinating journey.
Greca Tip: Morelia is known as the “City of Pink Stone” due to the distinctive pink quarry stone used in many of its historic buildings, creating one of the most harmonious architectural landscapes in Mexico.

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel and at the agreed time, you will transfer to the Benito Juarez International Airport in Mexico City to take your departure flight.
After spending some fantastic days with Greca, we hope to see you again to enjoy some wonderful moments that will remain forever in your memory.
Have a good trip! Or, as you can say yourself: “¡Buen Viaje!”
