Northern Lights
The best season to see the Northern Lights is from September to March. Excursions are led by experienced guides and designed to maximize viewing opportunities. While sightings cannot be guaranteed, the experience itself is truly unforgettable.

After arriving at Tromsø Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Situated 320 km north of the Arctic Circle, Tromsø is often referred to as the “Gateway to the Arctic” and is renowned for its spectacular natural scenery, vibrant cultural life, excellent seafood cuisine, and unique Arctic atmosphere.
Once settled in, the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure. You may wish to explore the charming city center, admire the colorful waterfront, or simply soak in the ambiance of one of Northern Norway’s most fascinating destinations.
In the evening, you will meet your tour escort at the hotel reception, where you will receive an introduction to the journey ahead and important information about the upcoming days. The exact meeting time will be advised locally.
At the end of the day, we will go to rest and prepare for the unforgettable Arctic experiences that await us.
Greca Tip: Tromsø is one of the best places in the world to witness the Northern Lights. If the skies are clear, take a look outside after sunset—you may be rewarded with your first glimpse of the Aurora Borealis.

After enjoying breakfast, we will depart Tromsø and journey through some of Northern Norway’s most breathtaking Arctic landscapes. Along the way, we will pass snow-covered valleys, frozen lakes, and towering mountains, immersing ourselves in the pristine beauty of the region.
Our first highlight of the day is a visit to the Polar Park, the northernmost wildlife park in the world. Here, we will have the opportunity to observe some of the Arctic’s most iconic animals, including wolves, lynxes, wolverines, Arctic foxes, reindeer, moose, and musk oxen. While wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, the park offers a unique chance to learn about the fascinating species that inhabit the far north.
In the afternoon, we will continue towards Narvik, a picturesque port city surrounded by dramatic fjords and mountains. Narvik played a significant strategic role during the Second World War and remains an important gateway to Northern Norway. Upon arrival, we will have time to appreciate the city’s remarkable setting and rich history before settling in for the evening.
At the end of the day, we will return to the hotel to rest and prepare for the next stage of our Arctic adventure.
Greca Tip: Narvik is famous for its spectacular mountain scenery and deep fjords. If the weather is clear, take a moment to admire the panoramic views that have made this region one of Norway’s hidden gems.

After enjoying breakfast, we will continue our journey through Northern Norway, surrounded by breathtaking Arctic scenery. Our route takes us toward Sortland, where we will experience an authentic encounter with the indigenous Sámi culture at a traditional reindeer farm.
During this memorable visit, we will meet a Sámi reindeer herder and learn about the centuries-old traditions that have shaped life in the Arctic. We will also have the opportunity to observe and interact with reindeer, animals that play a central role in Sámi heritage and culture.
Following this cultural experience, we will travel towards Svolvær, the vibrant capital of the Lofoten Islands. Along the way, spectacular mountains, dramatic coastlines, and picturesque fishing villages create endless opportunities to admire and photograph one of Norway’s most iconic landscapes.
Upon arrival in Svolvær, we will check in at the hotel and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Nestled between towering peaks and the sea, this charming town is known for its lively harbor, art galleries, local restaurants, and extraordinary natural surroundings.
At the end of the day, we will return to the hotel to rest and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Lofoten Islands.
Greca Tip: Svolvær is famous for its stockfish tradition, one of Norway’s oldest exports. Strolling along the harbor at sunset offers some of the most beautiful views in the entire archipelago.

After enjoying breakfast, we will set out to explore the magnificent Lofoten Islands, one of Norway’s most extraordinary natural treasures. Renowned for their dramatic scenery, the archipelago is a land of striking contrasts where rugged mountains rise directly from the sea, creating landscapes unlike anywhere else in the world.
Throughout the day, we will travel through charming fishing villages, admire crystal-clear lakes, and discover white-sand beaches framed by towering peaks. The colorful waterfront communities and breathtaking Arctic vistas have made Lofoten one of Scandinavia’s most photographed destinations. As we journey through the islands, there will be plenty of opportunities to capture unforgettable views and immerse ourselves in the region’s unique atmosphere.
After our exploration, we will continue towards Harstad, beautifully situated between fjords and mountains. As evening falls, we will embark on a memorable Northern Lights hunt accompanied by our tour escort. Using local knowledge and weather forecasts, we will travel to the areas offering the best possible conditions to witness the magical Aurora Borealis. While the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed, our guides will make every effort to maximize the chances of experiencing this spectacular display.
At the end of the evening, we will return to the hotel and rest after another unforgettable day in Arctic Norway.
Greca Tip: The Lofoten Islands are famous for their traditional red fishermen’s cabins, known as rorbuer. These iconic structures have become one of the most recognizable symbols of Northern Norway.

After an early breakfast, we will make our way to the harbor and board a high-speed ferry back to Tromsø. As we sail through Northern Norway’s spectacular coastal landscapes, we can enjoy views of fjords, islands, and snow-capped mountains that define this remarkable Arctic region. Departure from Harstad is scheduled for 07:00, with arrival in Tromsø at approximately 10:00.
Upon arrival, we will walk to our hotel before setting out on a panoramic tour of Tromsø with our tour escort. During this introduction to the city, we will discover its fascinating history, Arctic heritage, and vibrant atmosphere, gaining a deeper appreciation for one of the world’s northernmost urban centers.
The remainder of the afternoon and evening will be at leisure, offering the opportunity to further explore the city or participate in one of several optional Arctic experiences. Guests may choose from a memorable Northern Lights Husky Visit, an exciting Snowmobile Safari through the Arctic wilderness, or a Northern Lights Cruise through the surrounding fjords.
Sailing away from the city lights, this cruise ventures into the darkness of the Arctic night in search of the best weather conditions and optimal opportunities to witness the magical Aurora Borealis.
At the end of the day, we will return to the hotel to relax and reflect on the unforgettable experiences of our Arctic journey.
Greca Tip: Tromsø’s waterfront is particularly beautiful during the evening hours. The reflections of the city lights on the surrounding waters create a magical atmosphere, especially during the Polar Night season.

After enjoying breakfast, we will have some free time to savor our final moments in Tromsø, the enchanting Gateway to the Arctic. This is the perfect opportunity to take a last stroll through the city center, admire the surrounding snow-covered landscapes, or simply enjoy the unique atmosphere of Northern Norway one final time.
At the scheduled time, we will be transferred to Tromsø Airport for our departure flight, bringing our unforgettable Arctic adventure to an end. As we leave behind the dramatic fjords, pristine wilderness, and memorable experiences of the far north, we take with us lasting memories of one of the world’s most extraordinary destinations.
Greca Tip: Before leaving, consider picking up some local Arctic specialties or handcrafted souvenirs inspired by Sámi culture—a meaningful way to remember your journey through Northern Norway.
