Upon landing in Rovaniemi, the heart of Finnish Lapland, one of our vehicles will be waiting to comfortably transfer you to your accommodation, ensuring your adventure begins with ease and warmth despite the Arctic climate.

Today, you set foot in a land where snow not only blankets the landscape, but also the dreams of those who long to experience a true winter fantasy. Here, in this place of extreme contrasts—where the sun never sets in summer and the polar night reigns in winter—the spirit of the Arctic can be felt in the crisp, pure air.

This first afternoon is designed for you to acclimate and begin to embrace the serene rhythm of the north. You may be surprised to learn that Rovaniemi was almost completely destroyed during World War II and has since been reborn as a modern, vibrant city, deeply connected to Sámi culture and the magic of Christmas.

Your accommodation will be in a comfortable hotel in the city. If you wish, you may pre-book a delicious local dinner to end your first day with warmth and flavor.

With a comforting breakfast to start the day, we embark on a journey dedicated to the most representative traditions of Lapland. In the morning, we head to a reindeer farm, where we discover the importance of these animals in Arctic life. Aboard a traditional sleigh, we travel through snowy landscapes in a serene experience that reflects the deep connection between nature and local culture.

The route continues to the iconic Santa Claus Village, located right on the Arctic Circle. This symbolic place invites us to explore its surroundings and enjoy a buffet lunch in a cozy atmosphere.

In the afternoon, the pace shifts with a husky safari guided by a professional musher. In shared sleds, we cross icy trails while getting a closer look at the strength and endurance of these remarkable dogs.

As night falls, after a comforting buffet dinner, we head to the Ounasvaara area, accompanied by our guide, who will lead us through this serene natural setting. Surrounded by snow-covered forests and pure air, we take in the silence and beauty of the polar night while watching the sky in search of the delicate movement of lights that may appear above us. Although the Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed, the experience offers a chance to discover the magic of winter in Lapland.

Note: For departures between November 25 and December 16, the buffet dinner is not included, and you will have free time to dine at your own pace. Additionally, the Northern Lights hunt will not take place on the December 23 and December 30 departures.

A relaxed breakfast at the hotel marks the beginning of a day dedicated to Arctic wildlife. We head to Ranua, near Rovaniemi, home to the northernmost zoo in the world. During the walking tour, we gain insight into how these animals adapt to one of the most extreme climates on the planet.

At midday, we enjoy a buffet lunch at the park before returning to Rovaniemi. The afternoon is free to relax and take in the serene atmosphere of the region.

In the evening, a home-style buffet dinner offers a comforting end to the winter day. For those who wish, optional activities are available, such as a snowmobile safari with a stop by a campfire or a guided Northern Lights excursion, including hot drinks and moments by the fire under the Arctic sky.

We may choose to visit the Arktikum Museum, an essential introduction to life in the Arctic and to the Sami people, whose traditions reflect centuries of adaptation to extreme conditions. For those seeking adventure, activities such as snowshoeing, ice fishing, or snowmobile excursions offer a direct connection with the snowy landscapes.

A particularly exciting option is ice karting, where driving on frozen surfaces helps explain why Finland has produced great Formula 1 drivers like Kimi Raikkonen. It is also possible to stroll along the Ounasjoki River or explore the city at a leisurely pace.

In the evening, we gather once again for a final outing in search of the Northern Lights in Ounasvaara, enjoying the calm of the polar night and the chance to witness this unique phenomenon.
