Upon your arrival to to the largest island in Greece, Crete, we will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.
The city of Heraklion, literally meaning the glory of the goddess Hera, is the capital of the island and one of the Mediterranean's most fascinating and vibrant citites. It was the most important city of the Minoan civilization and home to King Minos and the ferocious Minotaur. It is also here where the Palace of Knossos is located, the oldest palatial complex in Europe.
Greca Tip: Stroll through this picturesque town with its Venetian harbor, the fortification walls, the busy shopping center and the Venetian and Turkish fountains, scattered all around.

After a generous breakfast, you will have a free day to explore this incredible city. We suggest a leisurely stroll through the charming historical center and, of course, a visit to the extraordinary Palace of Knossos, home to the fabled King Minos and the ferocious Minotaur.
Greca Tip: You can try dakos, paximadi (rusks) with chopped tomato, fresh cheese, herbs and olive oil placed on top.

After breakfast, at the agreed time, we will be comfortably transfered from Heraklion to Chaniá.
Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel in Chaniá and have the afternoon free to explore the city at our leisure.
Greca Tip: Chaniá is known for its charming old town and Venetian harbor. We recommend strolling through the narrow streets and enjoying the historic architecture.

This free day is for you to rest and discover, aboard your rental car, the wonders that make this city one of the main European vacation destinations. We recommend visiting the formidable and unique beaches of Balos, Elafonisi or Falasarna, some of them considered among the best in the world.
Greca Tip: If you like trekking, we recommend adding a night in Chania to visit Samaria gorge. For this excursion you will need to go to Omalos and park your vehicle 50 meters from the entrance to the creek. The trekking is about 16 km downhill and lasts between 4 to 6 hours, until you reach Agia Roumeli. In Agia Roumeli you will have time for lunch and a swim. At 4:45 p.m. the ferry crossing, lasting about 40 minutes, will take you to Sougia (we suggest buying the tickets upon your arrival at Agia Roumeli). When you reach Sougia you will take the bus back to Omalos, where you left your car earlier on in the day.

On this last day, you have the option to arrange a transfer from Chaniá to the airport or port of Chaniá, or to travel back to Heraklion to catch your international flight.
The distance between Heraklion and Chaniá is approximately 140 km and the drive takes about 2 hours. Please ensure that your international flight from Heraklion departs after 12:30 PM to allow sufficient travel time.
You can choose your preferred transfer in step 1/3 of your booking.
Greca Tip: If you choose to return to Heraklion, consider leaving early to explore any remaining sites or do some last-minute shopping before your departure.
From Greca, we hope to see you again to enjoy wonderful moments that will remain forever in your memory.
Have a good trip! Or, as you would say, "Kaló taksídi!"
