Tour to Heraklion & Chania in Crete 4 days

After your arrival in the largest island in Greece, Crete, a person from our English-speaking team will be waiting for you at the port or at the airport of Heraklion to assist you, inform you of all the details of your trip, clear any doubts you may have, answer your questions and make a brief presentation of the city and its day to day life.

At your hotel, your assistant will help you with the check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to relax, or if you wish, to start enjoying the place that once was home to King Minos and his Minotaur!

Greca Tip: Crete is an island full of flavors, so be sure to try the taste of the traditional Cretan liquor "Rakí".

Early in the morning, at the time indicated, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin your adventure. Firstly, you will visit the Palace of Knossos, the oldest palatial complex in Europe, home to King Minos and the mythological Minotaur.

Together with your guide, you will continue to Rethymnon, a city which was formerly occupied by the Venetians and where you will enjoy a guided walk through its narrow and picturesque streets as well as free time to have lunch and enjoy the excellent gastronomy of the island.

After lunch, you will continue along the coastal road to Chania, appreciating the beauty and history of this island.

You will stay in this city, also called "Haniá," and have free time to visit its charm with your guide's recommendations. This includes, among others, the old Venetian port and, of course, the local market.

Greca Tip: In the traditional bakeries of Rethymnon, you will find lychnarakia (small pies with cheese) and kaltsounia (small pies with cheese and cinnamon).

Early in the morning, and after a tasty breakfast, we will pick you up to discover one of the most hidden treasures of this island. On the way to your destination and past gorges and steep summits you will enter the southwestern region of the island, where idyllic beaches of pink sand are washed by the transparent waters of the Libyan Sea. 

Among these the indisputable protagonist is the incredible beach of Elafonisi, a flat morsel of land with sporadic vegetation against the stark bareness of the Cretan mountains. 

Free time to swim in one of the loveliest beaches in the world with sun loungers and umbrellas provided for your convenience. 

After this extraordinary jewel of nature and towards the end of the day you will make your way back to Chania.   

Arriving in Chania, you can join an evening walk through some of the most lovely areas of the town, free of charge.

Greca Tip: Do not miss the magical Deer Island full of white and pink sandy beaches, which is very close to the main busy beach. It takes its name from the word 'Elafi', which in Greek means deer, because you can easily get to it through the shallow waters, like a deer.

After a tasty breakfast and at the agreed time, transfer to the port or airport of Chania for your return journey.
