Upon your arrival, one of our representatives will be waiting for you to welcome you, transfer you to the hotel and explain the island a little more.

Kefalonia is referred to by Homer as Same or Samos, a name that derives from Cephalus who became master of the island helped by Host. However, Herodotus is the first to call the island Kefalonia. Kefalonia also preserves the ruins of a Roman city in Cape Escala, to the southeast, probably built in the 1st century and called Cephalenia.

Nowadays it has the Castle of Saint George next to the Livadho plain. To the north you can find remains of a fortress called Asso, which may be the ancient Nesus.

The rest of the day will be free to relax and discover Kefalonia at your own pace. One of the most famous islands of the Ionian archipelago with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Greca Tip: Have a Kreatopita as a welcome treat. Kreatopita is a mixed meat pie (pork, mutton and beef) wrapped in a dough with onions, garlic, potatoes, rice, spices and tomato. You can find it in any tavern or restaurant.

Day at leisure to enjoy this magnificent island, also known as "Cefalonia". Far from the concept of arid landscape that prevails on other islands, here the green, the cliffs and the long beaches of golden sand prevail. Among its main attractions are the charming town of Fiskardo, Mirtos beach as well as the mysterious cave of Melissani.  The proximity of Kefalonia to the world-famous island of Ithaka, mentioned by Homer in his heroic poem Odyssey, offers a great opportunity for an exciting day trip.

Greca tip: Kefalonia produces yellow and feta cheeses, olive oil, honey and local meats. It is also home to the crisp and fruity Robola wine and to a large number of delicious local dishes, such as bakaliaropita (cod pie), bourbourelia (soup of mixed beans) and rabbit stew.

They complied with the schedules and transports were on time. Some of the assigned hotels not very good and far from everything (ex: Santorini). We were never able to have breakfast in Athens because the departures of the activities were early and the hotel began breakfast at 7:30am. Little time in Acroprolis.

Incredible experience

Everything went very well and I would contract with Greca again, only the transfer service was needed when I arrived in Milan (they did not pick me up) and I had to hire an expensive taxi service to get to the hotel, although they later reimbursed me for that value (70 euros )

Amazing trip

Greca set us up with great car services to bring us to and from all our locations. The hotels we stayed at in Fiscardo, The Fiscardonna and Vathy, The Korina Gallery, were great boutique hotels in amazing locations. Our only problem was that we should have booked extra days in each location.
