Surrounded by volcanic landscapes and sedimentary formations, the lake stands out for its natural richness and remarkable biodiversity. Covering more than 130 km², it is home to over 400 bird species, making it a true paradise for nature lovers. As we continue, we head toward the impressive highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most unique ecosystems on the planet. Formed millions of years ago after the collapse of a volcano, the Ngorongoro Crater spans approximately 260 km² and reaches a depth of around 600 meters, creating an exceptional natural habitat.

This remarkable environment hosts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, with nearly 25,000 animals living permanently within the crater, making it one of the best places in Tanzania for wildlife viewing. Formed from the collapse of an ancient volcanic caldera, this crater of approximately 300 km² hosts an extraordinary variety of landscapes, including riverine forests, open plains, and both freshwater and alkaline lakes. As we descend nearly 600 meters to the crater floor, the scenery unfolds in spectacular fashion, revealing a truly breathtaking natural setting.
