Get ready to explore the very best of Porto on a captivating journey that blends iconic landmarks with hidden gems full of history and tradition. This tour offers a complete experience: a guided walking tour through the historical city center and a panoramic drive aboard a comfortable air-conditioned minibus, all led by a destination expert guide.
At 08:45 h, we will meet at the designated meeting point to begin our adventure. The morning starts with a walking tour through Porto’s historic heart. We'll stroll along the elegant Avenida dos Aliados, admiring its monumental architecture and observing the exterior of Porto City Hall. From there, we’ll head to the iconic Clérigos Tower, a defining feature of Porto’s skyline, to appreciate its striking façade.
Next, we’ll visit the interior of the famous São Bento Train Station, where over 20,000 hand-painted tiles tell vivid stories of Portuguese culture and key historical events. We’ll continue up to the Cathedral of Sé, one of Porto’s oldest landmarks, where we'll learn about its history from the outside while enjoying panoramic views over the Douro River.
From the cathedral area, we’ll board our minibus to cross one of the city's bridges into Vila Nova de Gaia, home to the famous Port wine cellars. There, we’ll enjoy a guided visit to a renowned wine lodge, such as Fonseca, Real Companhia Velha, or Burmester. You’ll discover the fascinating wine-making process, learn its secrets and traditions, and taste three distinct varieties of Porto wine, one of Portugal’s greatest treasures.
After the tasting, we’ll return by minibus to Porto’s city center, concluding the tour at the original meeting point by 13:00 h, having experienced the charm, flavors, and stories of this unique city.
Greca Tip: While at São Bento Station, take a moment to admire the tile panels depicting battles and pilgrimages — each one tells a tale that connects the soul of Porto to its rich past.
