At the agreed time, we will pick you up to start this scenic tour through the most photographed places in Greece.
Firstly, you will head to Firostefani, meaning crown in Greek, which is an old village with traditional houses, narrow alleys, and wide terraces from where you can enjoy amazing panoramic vistas and marvel at the famous blue domed churches.
Right next to Firostefani is Imerovigli village, also known as the “The balcony to the Aegean”, it is built on the highest point of the caldera cliffs, about 300 meters above sea level, thus offering you breathtaking views of the Volcano.
The notable attraction of the village is the famous, immense rock called Skaros that lies on the seaward side. It was one of the island's five fortresses and the most significant one as it provided the ideal observation post for invading pirates.
On your way to the village of Oia, you will reach the narrowest point of the island, where your driver/guide will slow down, for yet another opportunity to appreciate the scenery and take some photos.
In the village of Oia, you will see several blue-domed churches, which feature in all the postcards of Santorini as well as many open-air cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and a large shopping area. Oia is one of the most photographed places in the world, situated on top of an impressive cliff and offers a spectacular view over the volcano.
The village has several cultural attractions such as the Maritime Museum, traces of a Venetian fortress, and the captains' houses. Moreover, you will see the cave houses, which used to be the homes of ship crews, and other neo-classical buildings inhabited by the affluent class of ship owners.
Greca Tip: Take one of the narrow quaint paths and discover something new at every corner, from lavish hotels to blue-domed churches, sun-bathed verandas, cozy restaurants, and gorgeous views.
