Excursion Itinerary: Half-day Private Tour Santorini Highlights

Enjoy a 6-hour private journey through the entire island of Santorini in a deluxe and comfortable minivan. Your experienced, local driver/guide will pick you up at the time and place of your choice and share his knowledge of Santorini’s culture and traditions.

Firstly you will head to the northern part of the island and embrace the famous village of Oia. Unique in every way with the iconic blue domed churches and panoramic views. One of the most photographed places in Greece, Oia is situated at the top of an impressive cliff and offers spectacular views of the volcano.

Continue your walking tour by strolling the narrow pathways of the traditional village of Megalochori. This settlement is made of hundreds small white painted houses with exquisite architecture, tiny alleys, tower bells, beautiful blue domed churches, and underground cave houses. At this picturesque and non-touristic environment, you will be immersed in the local culture and lifestyle.

Head southeast and you will see the Lighthouse. Built in 1891, it is considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in the Cycladic Islands and an excellent sunset-watching spot. Walk on the cliffs around it or sit on its exterior stone wall and on the rocks by the sea all around.

Nearby there is a local family wine farm, which offers high quality handmade traditional products, sweets, and the family's own wine. The hostess of the farm will escort you around the property, from the volcanic vineyard to the family cellar, and show you the wine production process.

Our next destination is the Red beach, the most unique natural beach of the island, where you can take amazing pictures of the volcanic landscape and the steep cliffs.

Head to the southernmost part of Santorini and relax in Perivolos black beach, with the amazing seaside restaurants and crystal clear waters. In Perivolos you will have free time to walk, swim in the Aegean sea and also enjoy lunch at a seaside Greek restaurant (not included).

Last stop at the island's highest point and the Prophet Elias Monastery, built in 1712. In these peaceful surroundings, you may taste the wine and the products made by the monks who reside in the monastery as well as enjoy magnificent views of the entire island.

Greca Tip: Find out more about the resident monks' traditional carpentry, shoemaking, local cooking and wine making workshops.
