The canals of Porta Ticinese have existed since Roman times and have always played a fundamental role in the history and economy of the city. This excursion will allow us to discover the secrets of this fascinating neighbourhood up close.
The Navigli system comprises 5 partially navigable irrigation canals: Naviglio Grande, Martesana, Pavese, Bereguardo and Paderno, between the rivers Ticino and Paderno and the lakes Maggiore and Como.
With this network of canals, the Lombards over the centuries managed to weave a water network that served as a defence, but also as a means to trade with the most active centres of Northern Europe.
The boat trip is a new way to enjoy the atmosphere and charm of this neighbourhood.
