Excursion Itinerary: Bethlehem & Jericho From Jerusalem
At the agreed time our guide will pick you up to start the excursion to the place where Jesus was born, Bethlehem, you will start your journey of approximately 30 minutes to visit first the Basilica of the Nativity, where the grotto where Jesus was born is located. You will continue towards the Shepherds Field, the hillside where the sanctuary that commemorates the first announcement of the birth of Christ is located.
Then you will drive through the Judean desert and enjoy a great view from the road of the Good Samaritan Inn or "Khan al-Hatruri", an ancient caravanserai in ruins that may have been the location of the events narrated in the parable of the Good Samaritan. After a brief stop at sea level to enjoy a panoramic view, you will continue to Jericho, the oldest city in the world.
You will stop to see the Zacchaeus sycamore tree and continue on your way to get an overview of the Mount of Temptation. You will visit Tel Jericho, the place where 25 ancient cities were discovered. (tkt of the cable car not included).
You will end the tour with a visit to Yadernit or "Qasr El Yahud", the site where Saint John, Jesus' cousin, baptized him in the Jordan River, beginning one of the ministries of Christianity.
