Excursion Itinerary: Mount Vesuvius From Naples

FROM NAPLES TO MOUNT VESUVIUS
FROM NAPLES TO MOUNT VESUVIUS

Mount Vesuvius was throughout the centuries and will continue to be the natural landmark of the Bay of Naples. Tragically it is known as the destroyer of the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The volcano is without a doubt a must-see on the visit to Naples. This tour is an unforgettable experience to admire the Bay of Naples from the top of the mount.

After a second stop in Pompeii to pick up other passengers, the driver will take you to the slopes of the mountain at a local restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples. There you will have time to taste the local food and enjoy the wine from the vineyards located on the mountain. The Vesuvius area is still characterized today by the presence of ancient grape varieties in many vineyards. Each wine (from Lacryma Christi to Caprettone) is capable of telling the history of the area and can be conceived as an ambassador of the culture and traditions of the territory.

After lunch, the tour will continue at the height of 1000 mt. where the guide will help you with the purchase of tickets to visit the crater. From the ticket office, you will walk to the real summit of the volcano to see the crater and listen to everything that the professional guide of the National Park will tell you. You can also admire the top of Mount Somma (1133 m) and, to the right, the cone of Vesuvius (1281 m), both separated by a valley, called the Valley of the Giant. After 2 hours of free time to reach the summit and take photos, you will return to the parking area, where the driver will pick you up and take you back to Naples.

GrecaTip: Remember to wear appropriate shoes and clothing, to comfortably enjoy the ascent to the crater of the volcano.
