This is a full day excursion, of approximately 16 hours in duration. Departures on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from August to mid October.

Full refund for cancellations at least 48 hours in advance. For cancellations or modifications later than 48 hours prior to departure, 100% of the total cost will be applied as cancellation fees.

How to make a reservation?

Today you will visit the famous Samaria Gorge, the longest (total length 16 km) and most impressive European limestone gorges, stretching from the White Mountains (Lefka Ori) to the Libyan Sea. It is one of the main Cretan sights and the second most visited (after Knossos Palace).
Our representative will meet you at your hotel or the nearest pick-up point early in the morning, at about 6.00am. You will drive in a luxury coach towards Omalos plateau and on the way you will pass through many beautiful villages. At Xyloskalo (wooden step), and at an altitude of 1230m, you will pass through the entrance of the gorge and start the hike, which will last approximately six hours. After a constantly changing landscape you will arrive at the coastal village of Agia Roumeli. Here you can enjoy a refreshing swim and lunch in one of the local tavernas. In the afternoon, you will board the ferry to Sougia or Sfakia. After about an hour's crossing you will be transferred back to Heraklion at about 10.00pm in the evening. Please bear in mind that the hike is long and strenuous so you will need strong, comfortable footwear, a hat, sunscreen and water.
