A trip to history
The excursion to Argolida, Mycenae and Peloponnese in September 2018 was a trip to the history of humanity, beautiful places, with the mystique of the past. Excellent trip, the services received were first class. The company exceeded all agreed upon. Unforgettable

A magnificent experience
We had the immense fortune that four years ago we had Estela as our guide again. This magnificent guide took us back in time with his explanations on the smallest detail on any topic related to archaeology, history or myths. I highly recommend this tour.
Thank you very much for your review. A pleasure to receive you!

Phenomenal. Highly recommended.
The tour was phenomenal. Review that the guide, Zoé, has been the best we have found in the many excursions we have done throughout Europe and the rest, and there have been many. Personally without Zoé's enthusiasm and knowledge, I don't think it would have been the same. Chapeau

All good except pick up
The excursion was very good, except that we would have preferred a little more time in each place. They made me go to a meeting point 10 blocks from the hotel and then with the bus we went around the corner. They could improve those details that are not details and would add to the service.

The Argolis
The collection on the bus was very early and it would have been better to be at a specific point. The guide was very good and spoke excellent Spanish, but we saw too quickly both Epidaurus and Mycenae, we also do not understand why you arrive so soon back to Athens

Beautiful excursion.
Great although it was a bit short for me, adding a stop in Naplia would be perfect! For example, eating there instead of in a place in the middle of nowhere where the only thing you could have was what they had: a menu. Despite this, the excursion was magnificent. Thanks to the guide: Helena,

Good
The excursion is very well organized. The best the guide Eleni and the theater of Epidaurus. The canal and Mycenae interesting, but this alone falls a bit short. I would have liked to go to some nice town to eat and take a walk and not to the roadside restaurant where they took us without being able to choose.

A lot of history and many kilometers
The tour is fine overall. I give the guide a 10, with extensive knowledge of the subject and very well explained. On the other hand I consider that he spends a lot of time on the bus. The stop in the Corinthian canal very brief, although sufficient. At lunch I give a suspense.

Excursion Itinerary: Argolis & Mycenae - To Peloponnese From Athens

ARGOLIS, MYCENAE AND AGAMEMNON - FULL DAY TOUR TO PELOPONESE
ARGOLIS, MYCENAE AND AGAMEMNON - FULL DAY TOUR TO PELOPONESE

Early in the morning, at the appointed time, we will pick you up from your hotel or closest meeting point to start this great excursion to Mycenae, one of the major centers of Greek civilization.

At first, we will make a stop at the famous Corinth canal, called Isthmus in Greek, to take panoramic photos of the spot where the Peloponesse and Central Greece unite, as well as the Aegean, connects with the Ionian Sea. This canal was completed in the latter 19th century during the governorship of Charilaus Trikoupis and reduces the sailing time instead of cirmumnavigating the Peloponesse for more than 400 km.

As you continue the journey you will pass towns with a rich history and an eminent presence in modern Greece until we reach the Acropolis of Mycenae. Mycenae was once the center of the Mycenean or Achaean civilization.

According to mythology, the city was built by Perseus with the assistance of the Cyclops (one-eyed giants). Once you are in the inner chamber, you can inspect the Cyclopean Walls, the Lion Gate, the Tombs of ancient kings, the Palace, the 99-step water cistern, the tomb of Aegisthus and the tomb of Clytemnestra among others, all these presented to you in a detailed and passionate commentary by the guide. Close to the Acropolis of Mycenae lies one of the greatest splendors of this civilization: the tomb of King Agamemnon. At noon, you will have a lunch break and rest.

Then you will depart for Nafplion through the fertile plain of Argolis, the picturesque town nestling at the foot of a cliff crowned by the mighty ramparts of the Palamidi Fortress where you will make a short photo stop.

The next destination is Epidaurus where you will enter the culture of the fourth century BC. Epidaurus was one of the most important pilgrimage centers of antiquity where the most famous Sanctuary of the medical God Asclepius is located. On the hillside of Knortion Mountain is the Epidaurus Theater, the best-preserved theater to this day. Its construction was not carried out independently of Asclepius. It was part of the therapeutic process since through the theatrical performances the distraction of the patients was achieved, which was part of the healing process of their souls. The Theater of Epidaurus, known for its acoustics, has a capacity for almost 16,000 spectators and is still used today by prestigious international festivals and artists.

Having finished the tour, you will be taken back to Athens around 19:30 hrs.

Greca Tip: Try to wear comfortable shoes.
