We will meet at 08:00 am at our designated meeting point to begin an intimate and enriching full-day tour, ideal for discovering Portugal’s great treasures with comfort and personalized attention.
Our first stop will be in Fátima, just one hour from Lisbon, one of the world’s most revered pilgrimage sites. There, we will visit the Sanctuary of Fátima, the moving Chapel of the Apparitions—where the Virgin is said to have appeared in 1917—and the magnificent Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, which houses the tombs of the three shepherd children. You will have free time for prayer, quiet reflection, or simply soaking in the spiritual atmosphere.
We will then continue to the majestic Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Portuguese Gothic architecture, built in celebration of the 1385 victory at the Battle of Aljubarrota. We’ll explore the remarkable Church of Santa Maria da Vitória, admiring its stained-glass windows, exquisite stonework, and centuries-old historical legacy.
Next, we’ll head to Nazaré, a charming fishing village known for its strong maritime traditions and stunning coastal beauty. We will visit the Sítio da Nazaré clifftop viewpoint, offering sweeping views of the Atlantic, and stop at the iconic Praia do Norte, famous worldwide for its record-breaking waves. You’ll have free time to enjoy lunch at your leisure, with suggestions from your guide to sample fresh seafood and local specialties (lunch not included).
We’ll end the day in Óbidos, a picture-perfect medieval village surrounded by 14th-century walls. You’ll stroll through cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses adorned with flowers, explore the ancient castle, browse artisan shops, and enjoy a tasting of the region’s iconic Ginjinha, served in edible chocolate cups—a delicious local tradition.
Estimated return time: 6:15 PM.
Greca Tip: Looking for a unique souvenir? Óbidos is the perfect place to pick up handmade liqueurs, convent sweets, and traditional local products.
