Naples with Underground Ruins Half-Day

After meeting at the designated meeting point in Piazza Municipio, in front of the Fountain of Neptune, at 08:30 am, we will begin a fascinating walking tour through the historic heart of Naples, accompanied by our local guide.

Following a brief introduction, we will travel by subway to the historic area, arriving at Piazza Dante or Duomo, where we will start our walk along Spaccanapoli, the main artery that divides the old town and concentrates centuries of history. Along the way, we will stop at Piazza del Gesù and Piazza San Domenico Maggiore, key settings of the city’s religious and cultural past.

We will then continue to the lively San Gregorio Armeno Market, famous for its handcrafted nativity figurines, a living expression of Neapolitan tradition. Afterwards, we will descend to visit the underground Roman ruins, discovering the hidden layers upon which modern Naples was built. The experience continues with the visit to a Baroque church, where art and spirituality merge in a truly unique atmosphere.

Towards the end of the morning, we will explore Naples’ monumental area, admiring the Maschio Angioino Castle, the elegant Galleria Umberto I, the majestic Royal Theatre of San Carlo, the vibrant Via Toledo, and the impressive Piazza del Plebiscito. The tour ends around 12:30 pm, with the option to enjoy lunch at your own leisure.
