Excursion Itinerary: Quintessential Naples

The tour will begin in the morning after meeting your guide in front of Neptune fountain in the municipal square. You will enjoy discovering the historic center with its ancient Greek streets, the Roman underground ruins, and the innumerable churches.

This city has different styles of architecture due to many invasions and therefore you will be able to see not only the Greek and Roman areas but also the medieval and baroque ones. At the same time, you will perceive the diversity of religious belief systems that coexist in the society: a mix of pagan and Christian icons can be seen in the San Gregorio Armeno market, where you can also explore the artisan shops.

After visiting this area, it is time to explore the underground ruins of Saint Lorenzo, which will fascinate you and allow you to discover a hidden city, from a different perspective.

During the free time, you can discover the "Neapolitan" culture, which is expressed in the typical local food, as well as in the narrow streets full of players and dancers that will color your walk with incredible effects.

Right after the free time, you will get to the monumental area of Naples accompanied by the guide where you will enjoy the view of the medieval castle of Angiò and one of the best neoclassical theaters in the world, the Theater of Saint Carlo. Across the theater, you will find the “Galleria Umberto I” and then you will walk through Via Toledo and Piazza Plebiscito.

The tour lasts approximately 6 hours and includes 2 free-time breaks, one for shopping and one for lunch.

Greca Tip: We recommend trying a typical Neapolitan pizza during your free time for lunch.
