POMPEII & HERCULANEUM FROM NAPLES

At 08:30 a.m. we will begin this fascinating excursion from the meeting point in Naples, ready to travel back in time and discover two of the best-preserved Roman cities in the world: Pompeii and Herculaneum, set against the dramatic backdrop of Mount Vesuvius.

Our first stop will be Pompeii, where we will walk along ancient streets that still bear the marks of daily Roman life. Accompanied by an expert guide, we will explore a carefully selected range of sites that reflect the city’s former splendor: one temple, one market, one ancient shop, one villa, one thermal bath, one theater, and the iconic Forum. The specific route within the archaeological site may vary depending on visitor flow and opening schedules, always ensuring a well-rounded and enriching experience.

Before entering the excavations, we will visit a cameo factory, where these traditional Roman-era jewels—rediscovered during the 18th-century excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum—are still handcrafted today. We will observe the artisan’s meticulous work, preserving a centuries-old tradition.

We will then continue to Herculaneum, a remarkable archaeological site renowned for its exceptional state of preservation. Here we will explore ancient residences and public spaces such as the House of the Deer, the House of Neptune and Amphitrite, the House with Atrium Mosaics, and the Forum Baths, where vivid frescoes, mosaics, and original structures allow us to vividly imagine life before the eruption of 79 AD.

At the end of the tour, we will return to Naples, bringing to a close a full and deeply evocative day.
