At the scheduled time, we depart from Milan, leaving the city behind as the landscape gradually transforms into one of Italy’s most evocative coastlines. Our journey leads us to the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where five timeless villages—Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso—cling dramatically to steep cliffs above the Ligurian Sea, shaped by centuries of fishing traditions, terraced vineyards, and maritime life.
Our first stop is Manarola, reached via a scenic route offering sweeping coastal views. Here, you will enjoy free time to wander through the terraced vineyards, stroll along the harbor dotted with colorful fishing boats, and observe daily life unfold as locals and visitors alike embrace the sea from the rocky piers.
Before midday, we continue by train to Monterosso, the largest of the five villages. You will have time to explore its historic center and enjoy the beaches lining its coast, discovering a place that, despite its popularity, has preserved a strong local character.
In the afternoon, we embark on the most inspiring leg of the day: an approximately 90-minute boat cruise along the coast. From the water, the Cinque Terre reveals its full beauty, with unforgettable views of the villages and the enchanting Portovenere. We arrive in La Spezia, where our bus awaits for the return journey to Milan, bringing this remarkable experience to a close.
