Embark on a captivating journey through centuries of history, uncovering myths and legends!
Our first destination is the island's highest point, Prophetes Elias Mountain, offering panoramic views. The live map provides insights into the island's culture and microclimate, while a visit to the chapel dedicated to Ag. Nektarios offers interesting information on church orientation and its architectural and economic influence.
At 10:15, we explore the archaeological site of Akrotiri, often called the "Prehistoric Pompeii" or "Lost Atlantis." With one hour of free time, guests can marvel at the more than 4000 years of history revealed by the Akrotiri excavations, using the handy map provided by your tour leader.
A visit to a traditional canava follows, where guests taste three traditional Santorini wines, guided through the original winemaking process. Stepping into an ancient vineyard, insights into Santorini's unique "terroir" are shared, shaping the island's renowned white wines.
Around 13:00 (01:00 PM), we pause for relaxation, offering free time for swimming and a meze-style lunch. Indulge in a variety of local tapas, predominantly crafted from regional products. This comfort food experience is complemented by a fine glass of Santorini wine from one of the island's renowned winemakers.
Following our "meze experience," we provide transportation back to your hotel, with the best possible memories!
Greca Tip: Don´t skip on the local treats Greek cuisine has to offer, such as fava, cherry tomatoes, round zucchini, and white eggplants!
