Excursion Itinerary: North Cappadocia From Istanbul

At the scheduled time in the afternoon, we will embark on an enchanting journey to the captivating region of Cappadocia. Known for its awe-inspiring landscape and rich historical significance, this city offers a truly extraordinary experience.
Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and checked into your hotel, where a delightful dinner awaits.
Greca Tip: Feel free to inquire with your assistant about the exhilarating opportunity of soaring over Cappadocia aboard a hot-air balloon.

After a nourishing breakfast you will dedicate the entire day to this wonderful region, starting with the Goreme Valley and the open-air museum. You will visit the churches, chapels, and monasteries, with their millennial frescoes painted on the walls. You will continue the to the town of Avanos, known for its ceramics, an art that dates back to the Hittite period. There you will be able to appreciate the use of red clay, coming from the Kizilirmak river, the longest river in Turkey. After visiting the river and tasting the delicious Turkish tea, you will cross the Pasabaglari valley or "Valley of the Monks", where you will be able to admire the rock formations shaped like stems with caps on top. You will pass through the Devrent Valley, also known as Imaginary Valley, looking like a sculpture zoo made by nature! Some of the animal shapes seen here are: camel, snake, seals, and dolphins, but if you let your imagination run free maybe you will find many others!
At the Goreme Panorama Point, you can enjoy fantastic views of the city of Goreme, the fairy chimneys and intriguing rock formations as well as take some amazing photos. You will continue to the city of Urgup, the capital of Cappadocia, with its apricot gardens, vineyards and winemaking tradition. The renowned Turasan Winery supplies around 60% of the region's wines and offers tours and tastings in their rock-carved wine cellar and vineyards. In the afternoon-evening, you will return to Istanbul and be transferred to your accommodation.
Greca Tip: Do not miss the incredible and unique views from the panoramic point of Goreme, and take the moment to immortalize it with a photo.
