Cruise Itinerary: Triton

After your arrival in the mythical city of Athens, the transfer to your hotel will be conducted in one of our private vehicles. A member of our English speaking team will meet you at your hotel, help you with the check-in, inform you of all the details of your trip, introduce you to the city and its everyday way of life and answer any questions you may have. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy Athens at your own pace.

In the evening you will join our guided walking tour, where you will have the chance to see and hear about the history of many important landmarks in the most charming areas of Athens, such as Anafiotika, Tiseo, Monastiraki, and Plaka. In this way you will see Athens from a different perspective.

Greca Tip: Extend your stay by adding nights during Step 1 of 3 of your reservation!

At 1:30 pm, one of our vehicles, along with your assistant, will pick you up to transfer you to Pireaus port, where you will board your cruise ship.

You will leave the port at 5:00 pm and you will be able to enjoy the refreshing night sea breeze on deck and the services offered on board.  In this cruise Greca Travel includes a full board meal package, including two excursions and unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Now you can really concentrate on having a great time!

After a quiet night's sailing, you will start your day with a tasty breakfast. You will then dedicate this day to your relaxation and the enjoyment of the comforts, services and activities on board your cruise ship.

At 06:30 am after the night navigation, you will wake up in the Port of Said.

You will take the "Classic Cairo" Tour. You will leave the port in a luxurious air-conditioned bus and travel south to Cairo. The first stop will be the last Wonder of the Ancient World, the Great Pyramid of Giza. From the base of the Chephren Pyramid, you will be able to explore these ancient wonders at your own pace. If you wish you can take a walk on the back of a camel or simply tour the site on foot. Later, traversing the valley, you will see the Supreme Sphinx guarding the area and you will enjoy a buffet breakfast in a 5-star hotel. After breakfast, you will continue your tour in the heart of Cairo. From the noisy Tahrir Square (Liberty), you will be taken to the National Archaeological Museum to learn about the ancient history of Egypt and visit the Papyrus Institute. After having some time to buy souvenirs you will return to the vessel, now located in the port of Port Said.

It is important to remark that if you choose not to take the excursion to Cairo, the cruise will depart immediately to the next port, without the possibility of disembarking in Alexandria.

At 08:00 am and after a comfortable sailing night, you will wake up on the coast of Israel, in the Port of Ashdod, the largest in Israel.

Ashdod is also one of the oldest cities in the world (17th century B.C.). During its history it was successively dominated by Philistines, Israelites, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Crusaders, Arabs, Ottomans, British, and finally became the new modern state of Israel.

At this stop, you will have free time to visit the city, enjoy its beaches, delight in its gastronomy and explore various places of interest. At night, at 10:00 p.m. the cruise will continue its journey.

After a quiet night's sailing, you will waken in the coasts of Cyprus, at the port of Limassol. Enjoy a delicious breakfast onboard and then venture out to familiarize yourself with the city.

Limassol is the second-largest city in Cyprus and the main port of the country as well as the largest in the Mediterranean. For this reason, it is one of the main economic and tourist centers of the region.

You can take advantage of the day and visit this beautiful coastal city, walk at your own pace and explore different points of interest, such as the Limassol Castle, located nearby the port and that dating back to 1590. You can also visit the Archaeological Museum and Khatoliki Castle, among other places.

At 6:00 p.m., you will leave port to continue the sea voyage.

After a peaceful night's sailing, you will wake on the famous island of Rhodes, which once hosted one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, "the Colossus of Rhodes".

From your arrival, at about 12:00 am until your departure at 6:30 p.m. you will have a whole day to explore the renowned medieval town of Rhodes, recognised by UNESCO a World Heritage Site, the Acropolis of Lindos or simply lay back and enjoy the natural beauty of the largest island in the Dodecanese island complex.

Greca Tip: Visit the Palace of Grand Master, the Street of the Knights, the old port of Mandraki and Hippocrates Square in the medieval Old Town of Rhodes and try some of the island's traditional delicacies, such as Pitaroudia with chickpeas fritters and melekounia, a healthy dessert with sesame and honey.

At 07:00 hrs, after a quiet night of navigation, you will wake up on the Turkish coast where Kusadasi is located, from where the visit to the ancient city of Ephesus begins. Ephesus is one of the twelve Ionian cities, an important cultural, religious and commercial center of antiquity visited by San Paul, Marco Antonio, and Cleopatra, among others.

This excursion is a journey through time, particularly in the golden age, which has shaped the fundamental center of commerce and spirituality. Built 3,000 years ago, Ephesus formed the history of Greek, Turkish and Christian civilizations, from its privileged location, chosen by the Oracle of Delphi. A place of pilgrimage, due to its proximity to the Temple of Artemis (one of the 7 Wonders of the World) and the presence of important Christian figures within the city walls.

Ephesus is also one of the largest Roman archeological sites in the Mediterranean. The splendor of its golden age is visible through its exceptionally well-preserved streets and ruins. While you explore this UNESCO World Heritage site, you will have the opportunity to breathe in the centuries of cultural effervescence, visible in the Ephesus Agora, the Odeon, the Houses of the Patricians, the beautiful Temple of Hadrian and the amazing Library of Celso. You will also have the opportunity to negotiate and buy local merchandise such as carpets, leather goods, souvenirs, etc.

At 17:00 p.m. the cruise will sail to continue navigation.

Greca Tip: The word Kusadasi means "Island of the Birds", although nowadays cruise ships dominate the scene!

After your arrival at the port of Pireaus (07:00), one of our vehicles will drive you to the Athens International Airport. Undoubtedly and after spending some fantastic days with Greca, we hope to see you soon in order to create new and emotional moments that will remain forever.

Have a nice trip!, or as you may say, Kalo taksidi!
