Package Tour Itinerary: Wonderful Balkans

Upon arrival at Dubrovnik airport, a person of our team will be waiting for transfer you to your hotel in one of our private vehicles. The rest of the day will be to relax and enjoy the city at your own pace.
Dubrovnik, known as the "Pearl of the Adriatic" for being one of the most beautiful cities in the Mediterranean, has been listed as a World Heritage Site since 1979. Dubrovnik means Oak Grove, due to the number of oak trees in the area. The city was dominated by the Byzantines, Venetians, Hungarians, Turks and Austrians.
Dubrovnik was also one of the cities that suffered the most in the war against Serbia, on December 6, 1991 more than 2000 bombs fell on it, that is why most of its houses are newly built. The old city is surrounded by a great medieval wall that houses 16 towers and is one of the great attractions of the city.

After enjoying a tasty breakfast, you will start the panoramic tour of Dubrovnik. You will go to the Pile Gate, one of the entrance doors to the historic center. Passing through this door you will enter to this special walled city that is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
You will visit the Rector's Palace, the Cathedral, the Franciscan Monastery and the pharmacy, which is the third oldest in Europe and the oldest that is still in operation. Then you will have the whole afternoon free to have lunch, take a walk around the walls, walk around the city or take a boat ride. At the end of your day, you will return the hotel for overnight.
Greca Tip: Allow yourself to enjoy the tranquility generated by having lunch in a restaurant facing the sea.

You will leave Dubrovnik in the morning following the Croatian coast and the spectacular landscapes of islands in the sea, almost 4 hours later you will arrive to Split, the second-largest city of Croatia and the largest city in Dalmatia and the Croatian coast.
In Split you will have the rest of the day free to start enjoying the charm of this magnificent city, starting with Diocletian's Palace, the most important monument that gave way to the current city of Split.

At the end of a wonderful breakfast at the hotel, you will visit with the local guide the city of Split, the nerve center of the Croatian Dalmatian coast and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
On your walk through the narrow streets of the historic center of the city, you will feel like travelers in time as you can review the history of the Roman Empire up to the present day. You will also visit its best-known monument, the Diocletian Palace, commissioned by the Roman emperor with the same name for his retirement. A fortress built in the style of a Roman city that gave way to the current city of Split as we know it today.
You will continue to the Cathedral of San Duje, former mausoleum of Emperor Diocletian, where the relics of San Domnius and San Anastasio are located, it consists of a 57-meter bell tower from where you can see the entire city.
To finish, you will visit the Temple of Jupiter in a panoramic way, cataloged as one of the most beautiful monuments in Europe, where in ancient times the cult of the God Jupiter was celebrated.
After your walk you will stay in Split.

After a tasty breakfast, you will head to Trogir, the center of artistic activities. Scholars from around the world gather here to study and paint. Then, you will turn inland and travel to spectacular Plitvice Lakes National Park. Have your camera ready as you take a walking tour around the lower lakes. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of this natural wonder of sixteen terraced lakes surrounded by thickly wooded mountains and lush vegetation.
After enjoying this wonderful landscapes you will go to the hotel in Plitvice for dinner and accommodation.
Greca Tip: The best time to visit Plitvice National Park is during spring or autumn.

After a delicious breakfast you will return to the coast and travel along the beautiful bay of Kvarner to its popular resort, Opatija. Here you wil have some free time to prepare for the tour to the wonderful Postojna caves.
The journey will continue to the north to Postojna, home to one of the largest caves in Europe. You will tour this fantastic subterranean world by miniature electric train.
Afterward, you will go to Bled, this beautifully set in the Julian Alps, in addition to the glacial lake that changes color from green to blue depending on the weather, its castle stands out from which you can enjoy wonderful views or row to the islet in the middle of the lake and visit the church of Santa María.
Greca Tip: In Bled try the "cream cake" after the walk, a delicious cake created in this town.

After a tasty breakfast you will start the tour around this Alpine Lake surrounded by high peaks, Bled was “discovered” by travelers in the middle of the 19th century. Since then, a small town of hotels, villas, and restaurants has developed around the lake, turning Bled into a lively, all-seasons resort.
This sightseeing tour features the charming town and the lakeshore, and visits imposing Bled Castle, perched on a cliff high above the lake. The balance of the day is at leisure. Perhaps join an optional excursion visiting the small island in the middle of the lake, browse through the shops and boutiques, or relax and enjoy the enchanting scenery.
In the end of the day you will return to the hotel for overnight.
Greca Tip: Bled offers a wide variety of sports activities, such as golf, fishing, horse riding and hiking in the surrounding mountains.

After a delightful breakfast you will leave the mountains and head to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. You will see the most significant sights of the old city center on a walking tour. Highlights include the picturesque open-air Central Market, the Three Bridges one of the most photographed corners of the city, which has suffered terrible damage throughout its history, Baroque Town Hall, the dominating structure of the Velké náměstí Square is this two-storey building with two towers built between 1740-1767, and Robba's Fountain, that stands in front of Ljubljana Town Hall at Town Square.
You will listen to the stories about its past and present, while you will go through the medieval streets, admiring different architectural styles and discovering hidden places that will make you fall in love with Ljubljana.
After this magic tour you will continue to Zagreb, Croatia’s capital city.
Greca Tip: The best views of the city will be obtained by climbing the hill of the castle of Ljubljana.

After a tasty breakfast you will take the tour around Zagreb featuring the historic Upper Town, St. Mark’s Church from the 13th century whose interior can be considered as a sculpture, with a spectacular roof of colored tiles, St. Catherine’s Church, the Cathedral, Parliament, and Government Palace.
The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the winding streets of the old town or take an optional excursion to see the countryside.
Greca Tip: Having a coffee in one of Zagreb's open-air cafeterias is quite a ritual: you can spend hours watching people, chatting or fixing the world without the waiters rushing you.

You will have breakfast at the hotel, and then transfer to Zagreb airport.
