Excursion Itinerary: Vatican Museums In The Morning
After meeting our guide, we will begin this unforgettable experience inside the Vatican Museums. We will arrive at the Cortile della Pigna, a large open space of 300 square meters adjacent to the museum, which takes its name from the large pineapple-shaped statue that stands on its center. And a little later, you will be able to delight yourself with the Roman and Greek works of art in the Pio Clementino Museum, distributed in 12 rooms. Then we will visit the Gallery of Tapestries and the sumptuous Gallery of Maps, which show the landscapes and therefore the geographical metamorphosis that our country has undergone over the centuries. Next, we will enter the Borgia Apartment, commissioned by Pope Alexander VI and consisting of six rooms in which the coat of arms of the powerful family stands out. Finally, we will arrive at the wonderful Raphael Rooms, frescoed by the great painter and his students; we will also admire one of his most famous paintings, the "School of Athens". We will arrive at the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo's best-known masterpiece and a true jewel of universal art.
