Little time in the Meteoras
You have to know what it is going for. It simplifies going to the Meteoras, but the time spent in the monasteries is minimal with respect to the trip and the time lost in scheduled purchases and the useless stop at Thermopylae. The guide was good but had a very bad way and challenged the passengers like children.

It was a good experience
I went on a tour with my husband, we did Delphi and Meteora in 2 days. The Orfeas hotel was very good, especially the food they gave us, which was delicious and plentiful. All very well, except the guide Zoe, who did not have very good disposition or pleasant treatment, had some confrontations.

Excellent excursion!
Punctual, helpful, excellent Spanish, excellent guides! The bus should not fill up so much because the last seats are very bad for such long trips. Congratulations for such excellent guides! They make a difference! The Meteoras are beautiful. I recommend it!

Great excursion, but mkilómetr
Very nice and recommended excursion. Special mention for the guide Estela a super attentive, fun, and very, very knowledgeable guide. The only downside I found is that I think there is not much time to see better and take pictures in Meteora.

Excursion Itinerary: 2-day Delphi & Meteora Tour

FROM ATTIKA TO THE ORACLE OF DELFI & METEORA, KALAMBAKA
1
FROM ATTIKA TO THE ORACLE OF DELFI & METEORA, KALAMBAKA

After leaving the city of Athens, passing by the town of Thebes, continuing up the slopes of Mount Parnassus and Arahova, the landscape turns from arid to majestic and imposing.
Under two gigantic rocks, the Fedriades, and on an impressive cliff, the famous Delphi oracle was established in honor of Apollo, the god of harmony, music and guardian of the sacred laws of Zeus. For the ancients, Delphi was the center of the world, the so-called "navel" of the Earth.

From its very origins, the Oracle played an eminent role in all the ancient world. The prophecies of Pythia, the priestess of Apolo, influenced the decisions both of individuals and sometimes the history of whole cities and states. The god spoke through her in an incomprehensible language that could be listened to and interpreted only by her. We will climb up the Sacred Way to the temple of Apollo with the numerous offerings made by Greek and foreign cities. You will also visit the Treasure of the Athenians, one of the most important edifices situated in the Sacred Way, as well as the sanctuary dedicated to Athena Pronaia.

We will also visit the museum, one of the most important in Greece, where we can appreciate finds unearthed in the region, such as the "omphalos" or navel of the world dating back to the Roman period, parts of a frieze with scenes that depict the exploits of Hercules and the impressive "bronze charioteer", a masterpiece of Greek sculpture. At the end of our visits, we will leave the slopes of Mount Parnassus, the native home of Delphi, and head towards the plains of Thessaly where the city of Kalambaka is located. Arriving in Kalambaka, we will dine and rest.

FROM METEORA TO ATTICA AND ATHENS
2
FROM METEORA TO ATTICA AND ATHENS

Early in the morning we will visit Meteora, recognized by UNESCO a World Heritage site since 1988.  Meteora is the place where the natural beauty of the region is combined with the eternal monasteries suspended or 'meteora' on top of the huge rocks.

The first monastery "The Great Meteor" was built by Athanasius after being expelled from Mount Athos and to escape from his Albanian and Turkish pursuers. At the moment there are six monasteries in use, five of which house monks and one of them nuns.

On our way to Athens we will go through Thermopylae, where the statue of the Spartan King Leonidas I stands in honour of the famous battle against the Persians in 480 B.C.

We will return to Athens in the early evening.
