Package Tour Itinerary: Orion

Arriving in the mythical city of Athens, a person from our English speaking team will be waiting for you to assist you with the check-in, inform you about all the details of your trip and offer a brief presentation of the city and the daily program.  At the same time our representative will reply to any questions and dispel any doubts you might have.

The transfer to your hotel will be conducted in one of our private vehicles. The rest of the day is free for you to relax and enjoy Athens at your own pace.

In the evening you will join our walking tour, where you will have the chance to explore the most charming areas of Athens, such as Anafiotika, Thiseio, Monastiraki, and Plaka and in this way see Athens from a different perspective.

Greca Tip: Extend your stay at this destination by adding nights at Step 1 of 3!

Take your seat and enjoy the city of Athens and its suburbs in a comfortable double-decker bus with this unique 48-hour pass and for as many times as you wish. Available in more than 16 languages including English, Spanish and Chinese with departures from selected points all over Athens as well as from the cruise terminal.

Orange Line
Visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon. The orange line will take you on a tour of the most beautiful attractions of the Athenian historic center, where among others, you can see the neighborhoods of Plaka, Thisseo, and Monastiraki, considered to be some of the most traditional and lively areas of Athens!
You can also visit the famous "Adrian’s Gate" in honour of the Roman Emperor, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, built during the Roman period and the largest temple in Greece at the time, the Hellenic Parliament in order to witness the change of Guards at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Ermou Street, the heart of the capital’s commercial district. Do not hesitate to explore the Panathenaic Stadium, where the first modern Olympic Games were held, the National Library and a little further away the National Archaeological Museum.

Blue Line - Piraeus
If you arrive by cruise you can begin your tour immediately upon disembarkation from any of the stops specifically located in the vicinity of the cruise terminal.
You will marvel at the charming ports of Pasalimani, Turcolimano, the yacht marina and even "Mikrolimano", the old port of Piraeus.
By combining the Orange Line with the Blue Line you will not miss out on the impressive new Acropolis Museum or the Acropolis Hill with superb views of the Parthenon.

Yellow Line - Glyfada
Begin your tour of the Athenian Riviera from the "Planetarium" stop of the Blue Line. Discover how once one of the least populated places has now become one of the most cosmopolitan areas of Greece. From the Stavros Niarchos Foundation to the largest marina, in the Mediterranean "Marina Alimou", the Yellow Line to Glyfada is a mixture of history and modernism; a combination of old-time culture and contemporary entertainment. Do not miss the sunset seen from the Marina Flisvou, or sunbathe and swim in the Aghios Kosmas beaches. In the Glyfada Terminal, you can also stroll in the most cosmopolitan neighborhoods of the capital, shop in the luxurious department stores, relax in the beautiful cafes and enjoy a delicious cocktail in one of the sea-front bars.

Green Line - Vouliagmeni
Vouliagmeni may have been associated with beaches, but the area is a history lesson in itself. From the Allied Forces Cemetery to the Byzantine Museum, Vouliagmeni is certainly worth visiting with Green Line. Relax on the beautiful Kavouri Oceanis beach, one of the most popular beaches in Athens. Discover Vouliagmeni Lake, the hidden treasure of Attica’s nature and have a truly natural and unique thermal spa experience.

 Train of Happiness - Piraeus
In case you arrive by cruise, you can start your visit immediately upon disembarkation at one of the stops located in the vicinity of the cruise terminal.  With Blue Line or with this train line operating its distinctive vehicles, you can roam in the narrow streets of Piraeus and get a closer look of this major teeming port.  Among others, important landmarks are the impressive Municipal Theater, the Nautical Museum,  the Pasalimani port as well as Korai Square, the commercial center of Piraeus.

Greca Tip: If you want a truly memorable and romantic experience, select the package that includes a Cape Sounion Sunset Tour.

Early in the morning, after a tasty breakfast, one of our private vehicles will be waiting for you along with your assistant to transfer you to the port of Piraeus, where you will board the ferry to the famous island of Mykonos. The crossing is scheduled at the ideal time of the day so as to enjoy the sun on deck and marvel at the deep blue of the Aegean Sea. The chosen name is said to be "the heap of stones" or the "rocky place", but a later version states that the island's name is connected to the hero Mykono, son of the king of Delos, Anius.

Upon your arrival on the island, one of our English speaking representatives will be waiting to welcome you, transfer you to your hotel and introduce you to this famous island.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax and immerse yourself in the 'slow' way of life of the islanders.

Greca Tip: You can select a fast ferry in step 1 of 3 of your reservation.

Free day to enjoy this magnificent island. Mykonos is the meeting point of the international "jet set", famous for its wonderful beaches, the dazzling shops and vibrant nightlife.

The island's cuisine is mainly Mediterranean, which makes vegetables and olive oil a basic part of the daily menu, as well as certain spices (oregano, basil ...) and on many occasions, fish and seafood.

Just a few minutes away by ferry, there is the historic island of Delos, which, according to Greek mythology, was the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. This small island, inhabited since 3000 B.C., was one of the most important cultural centers of antiquity.

Greca tip: We recommend hiring a car or a motorcycle to venture out on the island, experience the local customs and feel yourself like a Mykonian.

Having enjoyed a rich breakfast, appreciating life like a Greek, one of our vehicles will pick you up at the agreed time to drive you to the Mykonos airport, where you will board your flight to your next destination, via Athens, the island which is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, Santorini.

As you approach you will have a bird's eye view of the island and will be struck by the imposing beauty of the town of Fira with its white houses perched on the cliff, overlooking the volcano.

Upon your arrival, one of our English speaking representatives will be waiting for you at the airport to welcome you, direct you to your hotel and comment a little more on the highlights of this picturesque island. The rest of the day is free to wander through the narrow streets and watch one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world.

Greca Tip: Walk through Fira town's paved cobblestone streets, eat or drink in one of the top-rated restaurants or indulge in some shopping in the numerous boutiques and souvenir shops.

Free day for you and your companion to explore this magical island, considered to be the lost continent of Atlantis, at your own pace. The name of the island was given by the Venetian Giacomo Barozzi due to the presence of a chapel dedicated to Saint Eirini. His descendants remained until 1576, when the island became part of the Duchy of Naxos and until the Turkish conquest by Piyale Pasha.

Optionally, you can choose to go on a dazzling sailboat tour that comprises visits to the small islands inside the caldera, Nea and Palea Kameni, with the hot springs of green and yellow waters.

All the time, the capital city of Fira will never be far away, but will remain within view  throughout the cruise tour.

Greca Tip: We also recommend hiring a car in order to find out more about this island, taste its wine and its excellent local cuisine. Try tomatokeftedes, a kind of tomato balls as well as fava dishes (a vegetable smaller than a pea) and the cheese called Chloro, accompanied by one of the local wines.

At the agreed time, you will be transferred to the airport of Santorini, where you will board your flight back to Athens.

Your arrival at the airport will correspond with your international flight, which should preferably have a departure later than 12:30 hrs, or even better in the late afternoon, so that you could move comfortably throughout the course of the day.

Having spent a few fantastic days with Greca, we hope to see you soon so as to create together new and extraordinary moments that will be lovingly etched in your memory.

Have a nice trip! or as Greeks say Kalo taksidi!

Optionally you can add more nights in Santorini in step 1 of 3.

Greca Tip: As a going away gift you can buy a bottle of the indigenous wine varieties of Santorini, such as Assyrtiko, Aidani & Mavrotragano.
