Ankara is as an important trade center and a major intersection in the road network of the country. Upon your arrival you will have dinner and a good night's sleep.

In the afternoon you will depart for Cappadocia, a marvelous and fascinating region of lunar landscapes, formed over the centuries in the thick and soft layer of lavas sculpted by the two nearby volcanoes.  On your way there you will stop at one of the 36 underground cities of Cappadocia, which was built by Christian communities as a protection from Muslim Arabs. Here the stables, storage, and other common rooms are perfectly preserved in the soft volcanic rock. Upon arrival at your destination, you will check-in at your hotel, have dinner and enjoy a good rest.

Greca Tip: Watch a unique panorama in Göreme and learn more about the cultural heritage of Turkey and the Cappadocia region.

CAPPADOCIA

CAPPADOCIA

This day will be fully dedicated to the beautiful region of Cappadocia.  After a filling breakfast you will start by visiting the Göreme Valley, its open-air museum with the villages of prehistoric cave dwellers and underground cities.  It is here where the ideas of Christianity were unified by St Basil the Great and his Christian brothers. You will visit the churches, chapels and monasteries, with their ancient frescoes painted on the walls.

Your next destination will be the troglodite village of Uçhisar and the valley of Avcilar, which has a spectacular landscape.

You will continue through the Devrent valley, also known as Imaginary Valley, with its pointed, mushroom-like structures, many of which are said to resemble animal shapes. Finally, you will visit local artisan workshops, such as carpet-making or jewelry shops with the popular translucent onyx stones.

You will return to your hotel, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Greca Tip: At sunrise fly over the historic cave dwellings of Goreme Town in a hot-air balloon or watch the balloons from the rooftop garden of your hotel.

FROM CAPPADOCIA TO PAMUKKALE
6

Early in the morning, and after a delicious breakfast, you will depart for Pamukkale, meaning 'cotton castle' in Turkish. On your way there you will stop at the Old Palace and Medieval Fort of Caravanserai, built along the trade route that once lead to Persia. Here, in former times, merchants from the east and west used to rest, stock up on supplies and socialize.

Another important place that you will visit is the Library, which, according to archaeologists, competed with that of Alexandria, with more than 200,000 written records. Afterwards you will continue to Troy, where you will visit the archaeological site, the setting of the Trojan War described in the Iliad, one of the two epic poems attributed to Homer.  Your next destination will be Canakkale, where you will check in at your hotel, have dinner and rest.

The crossing is scheduled at the ideal time of the day so that you can enjoy the sun on deck and marvel at the deep blue of the Aegean sea. The name of this cosmopolitan island denotes "heap of stones" or the "rocky place", but a later version links it to the hero Mykono, son of the king of Dilos Aniou.

Upon your arrival on the island, one of our English speaking representatives will be waiting to welcome you, transfer you to your hotel and introduce you to this famous island.

The rest of the day is free for you to relax and immerse yourself in the 'slow' way of life of the islanders.

Greca Tip: You can select a fast ferry during step 1 of 3 of your reservation.

The island's cuisine is mainly Mediterranean, which means that vegetables and olive oil are an integral part of the daily menu, together with certain spices (oregano, basil ...) as well as fish and seafood dishes.

Just a short distance away by ferry, there is the historic island of Delos, which, according to Greek mythology, was the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. This small island, inhabited since 3000 B.C., was one of the most important cultural centers of antiquity.

Greca tip: We recommend hiring a car or a motorcycle to venture out on the island, experience the local customs and feel like a Mykonian, too.

Upon disembarkation, one of our English-speaking representatives will welcome you, escort you to your hotel and introduce you to some of the most outstanding features of this picturesque island. The rest of the day is free for you to wander through the narrow streets and become part of this amazing world.

Greca Tip: Sit back and enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world from one of the coffee shops in glamorous Oia.

DISCOVERING SANTORINI
15
DISCOVERING SANTORINI

Free day to explore, at your own pace, this magical island, considered to be the lost continent of Atlantis. The name of the island was given by the Venetian Giacomo Barozzi due to the presence of a chapel dedicated to Saint Eirini. His descendants remained until 1576, when the island became part of the Duchy of Naxos and until the Turkish conquest by Piyale Pasha.

Optionally, you may choose to go on a dazzling sailboat tour that will take you over to the small islands of the caldera, Nea and Palea Kameni, with the hot springs of green and yellow waters.

Greca Tip: On this free day, we recommend exploring the island, tasting its wine and its excellent local cuisine. We cannot miss tasting the tomatokeftedes (a kind of tomato balls), the fava dishes (a vegetable smaller than a pea) and the cheese called Chloro.

FROM SANTORINI TO ATHENS - THE RETURN
16
FROM SANTORINI TO ATHENS - THE RETURN

At the agreed time, you will be transferred to the airport of Santorini, where you will board the plane back to Athens.

Your flight to Athens airport will conveniently coincide with your international flight, which, for this reason, should preferably depart after 12:30 hrs, so that you can enjoy precious and stress-free time during the course of the day.

Having spent a few fantastic days with Greca, we hope to see you again soon to create more extraordinary moments that will be lovingly etched in your memory forever.

Have a nice trip! or as the Greeks say: Kalo taksidi!
