Package Tour Itinerary: Morocco In Full

Upon arrival at the Tangier airport, you will be received by a English-speaking assistant to provide you with all the necessary information for your stay in the city and accompany you in the transfer to the hotel in one of our private vehicles and help with the registration.

Tangier is considered a multicultural enclave of Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities. It has attracted the attention of many artists who lived or visited the city, especially after Delacroix who made the city an obligatory stop for artists looking for the colors and light that he showed in his paintings. Painters like Matisse and Francis Bacon, writers like Tennessee Williams, Samuel Beckett, Truman Capote and Paul Bowles or musicians like Igor Stravinski. Between 1940 and 1950 while the city was an international zone, it served as a refuge for artists, a party area for eccentric millionaires (Barbara Hutton and Malcolm Forbes), a meeting place for secret agents and all kinds of con men, an El Dorado for lovers of the good life.

In the afternoon panoramic tour of the city. Return to hotel, dinner and overnight.

After a tasty breakfast you will leave for Tetouan, to make a panoramic visit to the old capital of the Spanish protectorate in Morocco known as the "White Dove". It is the city with the most Andalusian features in the country, its architecture reminds us of that of many Andalusian towns. It was precisely the Muslims and Jews of Spain after the fall of Granada in 1492 who rebuilt the city.

Then you will go to the city Chauen, at the foot of the Rif that dates from the time of the reconquest of Granada, considered for centuries a sacred city forbidden to foreigners. They say that Chefchaouen means "Looking at the horns", referring to the two ridges that dominate the region. The Andalusian influence in the blue city is evident in its streets, its white houses with patios, gabled roofs and blue-painted windows. The city is made up of 2 parts: the modern city and the medina. Like any Moroccan city, the medina is in its heart and you have to cross one of its 7 gates to discover it.

After free lunch (not included) you will continue to the city of Meknes, a World Heritage Site and one of the four imperial cities along with Marrakesh, Fez and Rabat and the ancient capital of Morocco. You will visit this fortified city starting with its walls and its magnificent gates (bab, in Moroccan): Bab el Mansur, the largest gate in the country and in North Africa, the Agdal Pond, built for irrigation in the area, the Plaza Bab Lahdim, epicenter of the city's activity.

Finally you will arrive in Fez where you will stay and have dinner.

Greca Tip: It is worth sitting in one of the restaurants in Bab Lahdim Square and watching life go by while having a tea or a cane juice.

After a delicious breakfast you will begin the visit through the Golden Doors of the Royal Palace, seven bronze doors of different sizes represent the seven days of the week and the seven levels of the monarchy. You will visit the Medina (old quarter) with its Madrasa of Bou Anania (the madrasas are the Islamic schools), the Nejjarine Fountain, one of the most beautiful in the medina and the oldest in Fez, the Karaouine Mosque, one of the most important centers cultures of Islam with a library with more than 30,000 copies, in addition to the headquarters of the University of Fez, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, the most revered saint in Morocco.

You  will make a stop along the way in the famous neighborhood of the tanners, unique in the world, to later have lunch (not included). In the afternoon you will continue to get to know Fez and its beautiful artisan neighborhoods divided by guilds. Finally you will return to the hotel to stay.

Greca Tip: It is worth sitting in one of the restaurants in Bab Lahdim Square and watching life go by while having a tea or a cane juice.

After a wonderful breakfast, departure to Ifran, a mountainous city located in the Middle Atlas, with a cold climate, which has influenced its European-style urbanism reminiscent of Switzerland. It is a winter tourist destination for Moroccans who come here to ski. You will make a short walk and cross the cedar forests until we reach the city of Midetl, in the heart of the Atlas and which offers wonderful views where we will have lunch freely (not included).

Then you will go in the direction of the capital of the Tafilalet area, the city of Errachidía, which was a military base city for the French Foreign Legion. You will take a short walk and continue to the town of Erfoud, considered the gateway to the desert and an old commercial center. Movies such as "The Mummy", "Prince of Persia" or "Spectrum" from the James Bond saga have been shot here.

Accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Greca Tip: Don't forget to keep your camera's battery fully charged.

After an exquisite breakfast, if the clouds allows, you will have the opportunity to optionally attend the beautiful sunrise show in the dunes. Then you will go to make a panoramic visit to the town of Rissani, near Erfoud, cradle of the current dynasty (Alawite dynasty) and ancient commercial center. You will continue towards one of the most beautiful landscapes of the trip "the Todra Gorges", one of the most spectacular rocky canyons in the world and a place of great reputation among climbers. Free time for lunch (not included) and heading to Ouarzazate (the door of the desert) passing through "the route of the kasbahs", a series of adobe fortresses with battlemented towers made of raw brick and the City of Roses (Kelaa de los Mgguna ), a small fortified village where the damask rose (resistant to cold and drought) is grown, one of the most valued species in the world whose flowering extends from mid-April to mid-May.

Arrival in Ouarzazate, dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Greca Tip: A visit to the City of Roses is a good opportunity to buy rose water or some perfume.

Ouarzazate, known as "the door of the desert", is close to the Atlas Mountains and was a small trading point on the journey of African traders to reach northern Morocco and Europe. During the French colonial period it served as a supply city, administrative center, customs office and base for the French aviation. The most important film studios in Morocco (Atlas Studios), the largest in the world, are also located here.

After a delicious breakfast you will leave for the High Atlas mountains to Col de Tizi N'Tichka, to reach one of the most interesting places of the trip: the Kasbah of Ait Ben Hadou, an old obligatory stop for camel caravans, declared a World Heritage Site. Humanity by UNESCO. It is considered the most impressive ksar (fortified city) in southern Morocco and the best preserved in the country, which takes on different shades of red depending on the time of day. It has also served as the setting for numerous films.

Finally arrival in Marrakech for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Greca Tip: Today it is forbidden to forget the camera.

After a delicious breakfast, you will begin your visit to the city of Marrakech, the magical red city.

Your visit will begin with the Menara Gardens, on the outskirts of the city. These gardens with a 14-hectare park in the center of which is an immense 12th-century pond. Later you will go to the city center to see the majestic Koutoubia minaret, twin tower of the Giralda in Seville.

You will also visit the Bahia Palace built in the 19th century, the Berber Pharmacy, where you will find all kinds of natural remedies. The visit will end in a magical place: the Yemaa el Fna (People's Assembly) Square, declared a World Heritage Site. In the morning you will find sellers of orange juice and other fruit, wicker baskets, souvenirs, sweets, jewelry, dentists, healers, commissioned writers. This universe becomes particularly fascinating at nightfall, when the square is lit up with a thousand lights.

Free afternoon and return to the hotel for accommodation.

Greca Tip: Try a fabulous orange juice in Djemaa el Fna Square, you won't regret it

After a tasty breakfast you will leave for the city of Casablanca, which you will begin to visit along the Boulevard of the Corniche, the seafront promenade and the coastal road, through which you reach Anfa (old neighborhoods of the historic city), famous for its luxurious houses.

The tour will take you to the exterior of the Great Mosque of Hassan II, a monumental and modern work (sliding roof and resistance to earthquakes) that holds the title of the third largest mosque in the world after Mecca and Medina (optionally you can visit inside). It is the most representative monument of the 20th century. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Greca Tip: Don't miss the views of the sea from the Great Mosque of Hassan II.

After an exquisite breakfast and at the agreed time, transfer to Casablanca airport.
