Package Tour Itinerary: Italy & Greece

Upon our arrival in the eternal city, one of our vehicles will be waiting for us at the airport to receive us and transfer us comfortably and quickly to the hotel. On the way we will appreciate why the Italian capital is considered the maximum expression of the historical, artistic and cultural wealth of the Western world, which is why since 1980 it was included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

The rest of the day will be to relax, and if we wish, begin to enjoy Rome at our own pace. In the evening we will take a walk through Rome at night. Starting from the Piazza della Repubblica in front of the church of Santa Maria de los Angeles, we will embark on a minibus to visit the most special places of night-time Rome, those monumental buildings with their beautiful lighting that will transport us to a dreamlike setting.Throughout the tour we will make different photo stops starting with the Palatine and the Circus Maximus from the best possible perspective to appreciate the imperial palaces. The next thing on the tour will be a walk of just over half an hour arriving at the magnificent viewpoint of the Capitol Hill from where we will appreciate monuments such as the Marcello Theater, Venice Square, the Campidoglio or the Roman Forum.

And this is not all, we will still have time to make two more stops of about 20 minutes each in Piazza Navona and Piazza San Pietro.

In addition to the stops, during the tour we can see from the bus an infinity of other important monuments and buildings in Rome, such as: the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Colosseum, the Foro Boario or the Castle of San Angelo, as well as a tour along the Tiber River.

The tour ends in Trastevere, next to the famous Trilussa Square. If you prefer not to stay on your own in Trastevere, the driver will take you back to the starting point.

Tip Greca: Trastevere is one of the best restaurant areas in Rome, from the most traditional taverns to the most modern and innovative places, everyone will be able to satisfy their desires in Trastevere.

After a tasty breakfast we will depart to the meeting point to take the Colosseum, Forum and Palatine tour. The Colosseum is the must-see for every traveller visiting Rome. The majestic amphitheater used to be the heart of entertainment in Imperial Rome: this enormous structure of travertine marble and limestone could hold between 50,000 and 80,000 spectators, all eager for powerful spectacles such as hunting games or gladiator fights. A professional guide is the best way to fully enjoy a tour inside the Colosseum and learn more about the building and what was happening there 80 years before Christ, when its inauguration included one hundred days of free games open to all.

This excursion includes a guided walk through the Roman Forum, the political and cultural center of Ancient Rome, as well as a walk through the Palatine Hill, the area where the city was legendaryly founded by Romulus and Remus and where the emperors chose to to live. Then we will have free time to enjoy the majestic city.

Tip Greca: Don't forget to taste a Roman aperitif.

After breakfast we will transfer on our own to the Roma Termini station to board the high-speed train to the famous Venice. After a trip of approximately 3 hours 40 minutes, we will arrive at the Santa Lucia station. From there, we will go by ourselves to the hotel where we will rest, located near the station. Venice is the capital of the Veneto region and of the homonymous province. Its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is located on a group of islands in the Venetian Lagoon, north of the Adriatic Sea. Its geographical peculiarity, as well as its ancient history and its rich monumental and artistic heritage, have made Venice one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

After a tasty breakfast, we will a tour of Venice visiting Piazza San Marco, the Dogi Palace, seat of the Dukes of government and the court of justice, which joins the Palace of Prisoners through the Bridge of Sighs, where Casanova was imprisoned. After this walking tour, we will enjoy a spritz or a prosecco to top off your visit. Venice is a fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets, charming squares, elegant palaces and imposing churches. With this walking tour we will make sure not to miss any of the most emblematic places that marked the history of the city. It is the ideal tour for both art lovers and first-time visitors to the city. We will have the rest of the afternoon free to continue enjoying Venice at our own pace or take a gondola ride.

After our exquisite breakfast, we will transfer on our own to the train station in Venice, Santa Lucia. From there we will depart by high-speed train to the city that was the epicenter of the Renaissance, Florence. After a trip of just over 2 hours, we will arrive at the Florence station and transfer on our own to the hotel, located near the Santa Maria Novella station. Florence is a city that has kept its own charm and splendor unchanged from the past. The Tuscan capital is a city that never ceases to amaze.

Tip Greca: In the afternoon, we recommend starting to enjoy Florence at your own pace and don't forget to enjoy a delicious Italian gelato, there are highly recommended ice cream parlors across the old bridge.

After breakfast we will do a walking tour of Florence with entrance to the Accademia gallery. The walking tour will take us to discover its most fascinating squares and places. Crossing the historic streets of the city, always accompanied by a professional guide, without even realizing it we will arrive at one of the most emblematic squares: Piazza Duomo, where we will learn the secrets of this extraordinary Cathedral. We won't be able to stop admiring Brunelleschi's unmistakable Dome, Giotto's Bell Tower and the beauty of the Baptistery with its gilded bronze doors (including the famous Gate of Paradise). Throughout the walking tour, our local guide will point out the main monuments of the city: discover Dante's House and the small church where, according to legend, he fell in love with Beatrice at first sight. Later, crossing the medieval district of Florence you will learn what "tower houses" are and how the ancient Florentine nobility used them to demonstrate their power and greatness before their enemies. Admire Piazza della Repubblica with its elegant cafes and galleries before reaching the heart of the city: Piazza della Signoria. Perhaps not everyone knows that the famous Loggia dei Lanzi houses original masterpieces, such as Cellini's bronze statue of Perseus and Giambologna's spiral-shaped Rape of the Sabine Women. The next stop will be the Academy gallery, which houses one of the great icons of the city: Michelangelo's "David" sculpture. Inside the museum you will be able to contemplate other of his unfinished works of art, such as the Prisoners, San Mateo, the Palestrina Pietà and other masterpieces that show all the talent that one of the greatest geniuses of universal art, Michelangelo, treasured.

Tip Greca: Enjoy the essence of Florence and discover why they made this city the Cradle of the Renaissance.
