Excursion Itinerary: Rabat, Meknes & Fes From Casablanca

Our day will start with the tour to the Imperial City of Rabat, capital of the kingdom and second most populous city in the country. The visit will begin with the Royal Palace and seat of government, "Dar el Makhzen" where more than two thousand people reside.

Later you will visit the Kasbah of the Oudaya, a fortified space of Berber origin dating back to the 12th century, a World Heritage Site. Then you will continue through the Mausoleum of Mohamed V (10 years of work and the collaboration of more than 400 artists), the unfinished Mosque and the Hassan Tower, monuments of the Berber dynasty of the 12th century.

You will leave Rabat crossing fertile valleys until reaching the city of Meknes, a World Heritage Site and one of the four imperial cities along with Marrakesh, Fez and Rabat and the ancient capital of Morocco. You will visit this fortified city starting with its walls and its magnificent gates (bab, in Moroccan): Bab el Mansur, the largest gate in the country and in North Africa, the Agdal Pond, built for irrigation in the area, the Plaza Bab Lahdim, epicenter of the city's activity. Then you will have free time for lunch (not included).

Then you will visit the most spiritual and cultural city of Morocco, Fez. Where you will take an interesting tour of the most important places starting with the Golden Doors of the Royal Palace, built by masters in Bronze, You will walk through the old Medina with its Medersa de Bou Anania, the Nejjarine fountain one of the most beautiful in the Medina, The Karaouine Mosque that houses one of the main cultural centers of Islam and is the seat of the University of Fez, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, you will stop at the famous neighborhood of the tanners, unique in the world with its artisan neighborhoods divided by guilds.

Tip Greca: It is worth sitting in one of the restaurants in Bab Lahdim Square and watching life go by while having a tea or a cane juice.
